Our Program

St. Andrew Lutheran Preschool recognizes every child is a unique and special person created and loved by God.  Our program may appear informal and flexible, but the curriculum and environment are the result of careful, detailed planning, based on the knowledge of child growth and development.  Young children learn best through activity and personal experimentation with toys, equipment and materials.  We emphasize process and not the end product.   In our program, children learn individual and group social skills at their own pace.  Chapel is a part of our Christian curriculum.  The children gather in the sanctuary on a regular basis for approximately 10 minutes to learn about God's love through song, bible stories and prayer.

All classes are staffed with a Teacher and a Teacher Assistant.  Maximum class sizes are as follows:

Admission Requirements

Children who are 3 years old up to Pre-Kindergarten age and who are toilet trained are eligible to enroll in St. Andrew Lutheran Preschool.

Immunizations

All children are required by law to have updated immunization records before entering preschool.

Parent Involvement

St. Andrew Lutheran Preschool is a terrific place to teach and learn because of the wonderful support parents give to our children and staff!  Parents are partners in the teaching and learning process.   There are many opportunities to become involved, from volunteering in the classroom to attending Preschool Board meetings.  We maintain an open door policy where you are always welcome.

Registration & Tuition

Tuition is paid as a monthly fee or can be paid annually.  Monthly tuition is to be paid by the 1st of the month and is past due on the 15th of the month.  Tuition must be paid even if your child misses school as long as a place is being held for your child.

Tuition Rates - 2007/08

Registration Fee

$50 plus $25 for emergency kits and film developing.  These fees, paid to St .Andrew Lutheran Preschool, must be submitted with the registration form.  These fees are non-refundable.

Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the date of enrollment scheduled by the Preschool Board.   If the classes are filled when inquiry is made, the child's name will be put on a waiting list to fill the vacancies as they occur.  A limited amount of tuition assistance is available for those with financial need.  Applications may be obtained from the church office or the Preschool staff.  Confirmation will be sent after the Annual Budget is approved by the Church Council in July.

Facilities

Classes meet in the lower level of St. Andrew Lutheran Church which provides ample space for both classrooms and large motor activities.  We also have a large outdoor play area.

Calendar

Classes commence in September and end mid-June.  We follow the Beaverton School District Calendar for days off of school mid-year.  We are also closed for church holidays.
