Acolytes

An acolyte assists at each worship service by lighting and extinguishing the altar candles, handing offering plates to the ushers and receiving the gifts after the offering is taken.

Assisting Ministers

A lay member of the congregation serves as Assisting Minister at each service, underscoring the importance of everyone, laity and clergy, in the celebration of Holy Communion.

Hosts

No Sunday morning is complete without a warm and welcoming handshake. Greeters are stationed at the doors to the Sanctuary to greet worshippers as they arrive for the service. The hosts are also responsible for making and serving coffee, tea and other refreshments at the conclusion of each service.

 
Lectors

Lay members of the congregation read the Old and New Testament Lessons.

The Ministers of the Altar prepare the altar and baptismal font for worship.

Ushers

Ushers make sure everyone is comfortably seated and that all worshippers have a Worship Bulletin. Ushers collect the Offering at the appropriate time in the service and also direct congregates forward for the distribution of Holy Communion.

 
Worship Coordinators

The Worship Coordinator makes sure everyone assigned to a role in the worship service is present and that everyone understands the tasks they are asked to perform.
