Children are welcomed!
We welcome all children at St. Andrew, both during the worship services and during the Sunday School hour.
The Children’s Message
The pastors invite the children to come forward to the chancel to hear a special Children’s Message. This message is prepared to give children a special understanding of the Gospel of the day. Parents may always accompany their children if they are initially reluctant to participate. Children in the care of the Nursery attendants will be escorted to the Sanctuary for this special time.
When may my children receive Communion?
Children of any age may receive Communion at the time a parent deems it appropriate. The ability to reason as an adult is not a prerequisite. However, we ask that you speak with one of the pastors for assistance with preparing your child for this experience.
Location of books and quiet toys
There are bins with quiet activities and coloring pages at the rear of the Sanctuary. Ask an usher to assist you.
Nursery Service
Nursery care is available during Sunday morning worship from for infants and children to the age of five. You will be asked to sign your children in and out of the nursery.
Unless you direct the Nursery staff to the contrary, they will escort the children from the Nursery area to the Sanctuary at the time of the Children’s Sermon. They will then escort the children safely back to the Nursery at the end of the Children's Sermon.
Parents will often collect their children at the time Holy Communion is distributed so they may either receive the elements or a blessing.
Lisa Staul is the Nursery Coordinator. She is joined by Middle and High School youth members in the care of children during the service. |
